Dubai frame is one of the best architectural landmark located in Zabeel Park, Dubai. The Guardian newspaper has described it as “the biggest picture frame on the planet”. The height of the frame is 150.24 m which is 493 in feet. It is a design selected in ThyssenKrupp Elevator International Award from 926 proposals. Architects from all over the world were invited to participate. Dubai needed an epitome to promote “the new face for Dubai”. 

The frame was visualised by the architect Fernando Donis. It won the first prize from Government of Dubai at ThyssenKrupp Architecture Award in 2009. Fernando says that he didn’t get any credit for the design and never got the money won from the competition. So, The Dubai Frame is the subject of an intellectual property dispute in Dubai.

8. Dubai Museum

It is the main museum and oldest existing building  in Dubai located in Al Fahidi Fort. The building was built in 1787 and the museum was opened in 1971 by the Ruler of Dubai. The aim of this museum was to present the traditional way of life in Emirates of Dubai. There is a path to galleries from the fort, which represents the culture of the land from 1800s. It displays local antiques and artifacts which was traded with Dubai from African and Asian countries. The total area of the museum is 4,000 sq meters and as of 2013, it has more than 1 million annual visitors. 

In the first gallery of the museum, there are some maps of old Dubai are displayed. After that there’s a gallery of a video room which shows a video of Dubai from before the discovery of oil in 1960s to the current day. The video was last updated in 2007.
